If you are not familiar with Ventum Bikes, take a moment and click on the Ventum logo to the left on this page. What you will find is one of the most innovative and fastest time trial bikes to ever hit the market. The first thing you will notice is the futuristic design; it looks like a vehicle designed by space engineers. Co-founder and pro triathlete, Jimmy Seear, constructed and built the Ventum One with speed and the triathlete in mind. It is easy to break down and build up, transport, and, most importantly, it gets you from point A to point B extremely fast.
I have been friends with Ventum Co-founder Diaa Nour, for quite a few years. It just so happened that, at the end of 2015, I was exploring my options for a bike partner and they were looking for athletes to represent their brand. Good things come to those who wait. This is a phrase you do not hear too often in the world of professional triathlete sponsorship negotiations; usually it is the early bird gets the worm! After multiple years of working with multiple bike companies, I was finally in a position where I had a few offers on the table. I was most intrigued with Ventum, the Ferrari of bike industry and new kid on the block. I signed with Ventum knowing that I was now on an extremely fast bike (my wind tunnel tests were all the proof I needed), and an amazing support crew who would work tirelessly to make sure I was ready to go for each race.
The proof is in the pudding. I won’t give exact numbers but in the wind tunnel, with full components and storage gear attached, my times on the Ventum were significantly faster than other bikes. Once again, this is free speed. During my first race at Ironman New Zealand in 2016, it was apparent that I was riding a special machine as it effortlessly slipped through the course. I am more confident than ever with my gear choice and confidence is half the battle!
